A dedusting cyclone is a device used in industrial environments for the separation of solid particles from contaminated gas streams. It is a type of auxiliary equipment for dust collection and is intended for use as a pre-cleaner with other gas and particle cleaning devices. Cyclone dust collectors are generally found in any work or industrial environment that needs to manage large fibrous or coarse particles generated during production processes.

Here is how a cyclone dust collector works:

The air/dust entering the cyclone from a hose connected to a dust producing tool is forced into a circular path, circulating at thousands of rpm.

This creates a centrifugal force that forces any heavier than air particles to the outside wall.

Gravity causes the dust and debris to spiral down until it eventually lands in the collection bin.

Cyclone separators are used with shop vacs and dust collectors to remove 85% to over 99% of all of the dust before it gets to the filter.

Cyclone dust collectors are useful to filter debris out of a dust. They supplement the performance of dust-filtering screens that are provided with conveying systems. The Donaldson Torit Cyclone dust collector is designed specifically for high dust load, high temperature, and product recovery applications. It has a mechanical separator that uses centrifugal force to remove large and high-volume dust from industrial applications.
